VIVAnews - Although the 2011 subsidized fuel quota had been increased from 38.5 million kiloliters to 40.49 million kiloliters, the consumption is likely to keep exceeding the limit. This is seen from the data of fuel consumption which had been outreaching the quota every month.

Based on the data of Downstream Oil and Gas Regulator BPH Migas, the realization of subsidized fuel consumption between January 1 and July 31, 2011 had reached 23.6 million kiloliters. This figure comprised 14.3 million kiloliters of Premium type, 8.2 million liters diesel oil and 1 million kl kerosene.

"The total excess of quota is 1.83 percent in July," said BPH Migas Chief Tubagus Haryono in a short message VIVAnews received, Thursday, August 4. He said the excess in quota for Premium was 2.27 percent, diesel 2.01 percent, while the realization of kerosene was still under the quota by 5.05 percent.

Last July, the government and the House of Representatives agreed to raise the subsidized fuel quota from 38.5 million kl to 40.49 kl, comprising Premium 24.54 million kl, kerosene down to 1.80 million kl and diesel 14.15 million kl . Thus the remaining quota of subsidized fuel until the end of 2011 is 16.89 million kl.

The realization of subsidized fuel in the first semester also exceeded the quota stipulated in the 2011Revised State Budget. The consumption of Premium in the first half of 2011 reached 52.17 percent, diesel oil 52.42 percent, while kerosene was still below the quota with 45.28 percent.
