VIVAnews - Former Director of State-run Electricity Company (PLN) Eddie Widiono will be tried at the Corruption Court in Jakarta today. He is facing a graft case on customer information system procurement.

"There are a lot of questions in the indictment. Why were the state losses only revealed a year after our client had been named suspect?" said Widiono’s lawyer, Maqdir Ismail, today.

Maqdir said that Widiono was declared suspect in February 2011. However, the state losses were only estimated a year later. In fact, one of the indications in corruption is state losses.

In addition, Maqdir said, instead of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), it is Development and Finance Monitoring Agency which declare affirmed state losses.

Maqdir also questioned the status of former PLN president director Fahmi Mochtar and former PLN General Manager Disjaya Margo Santoso, who were said as receiving order from Eddie Widiono.

Fahmi and Margo were already named defendants albeit, "the two have never been thorough an investigation as suspects," said Maqdir.

KPK detained Eddie Widiono based on Article 2 point 1 and Article 3 of Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55 point 1 of the Penal Code. Widiono was named suspect in February 24, 2010, on alleged corruption cases of PLN East Java.

However, Maqdir confirmed his client is ready to undergo the first trial of this case.
