VIVAnews - PT Bank Mandiri Tbk plans to expand its business to Southeast Asia. One of the targeted countries is Malaysia.
According to Bank Mandiri Director Zulkifli Zaini, the company prepares the initial capital of MYR 100 million.
"As for the next five years, it will be increased to MYR 300 million," Zulkifli said in Jakarta.
However, he went on to say that some problems still hamper the plan, including the not-yet finished discussions about how many branches to be opened, "including, why ATM machines are only permitted in branch office," said Zulkifli.
Overseas expansion, according to Zulkifli, was a result of earlier business presence made by a number of Indonesian entrepreneurs abroad. "More and more Indonesian businesspeople have expanded their presence in such countries as Malaysia, China, and Hong Kong," he said.
