VIVAnews - The forensic audit conducted by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) over Bank Century has been 35 percent completed. Member of the Century Case Supervisory Team, Akbar Faizal, stated the audit result raises hope among people over the disclosure of the bank scandal.
"The audit results will further emphasize the criminal element of the case. There is no reason for KPK not investigating it," Akbar said on Friday.
The audit result highlights problems found in the bank, now known as Bank Mutiara.
"Plenty of transactions indicate that Antaboga is part of Bank Century," said Akbar. "Some Antaboga customers’ money were repaid through Bank Century." So far, Bank Mutiara had always avoided taking responsibility of Antaboga customers.
Moreover, there were hundreds of irregular transactions using accounts under false name or address. "In fact there were 60 new transactions whose amounts are significant yet awkward," said Akbar.
However, Akbar said, the audited result cannot be directly attributed to either the 2009 General Elections or the Presidential Election. "Just wait for the audit to be 100 percent complete," said Akbar. It is scheduled that the forensic audit could come to completion in November.
