VIVAnews - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Busyro Muqoddas, will be questioned by the commission’s Ethics Committee today. This is related to the alleged violation of the KPK leader’s code of conduct, as reported by former treasurer of the Democratic Party who became graft suspect, Muhammad Nazaruddin.
"Pak Busyro will be questioned this afternoon," said KPK Ethics Committee Head Abdullah Hehamahua, Tuesday.
Nazaruddin, through his lawyer OC Kaligis, said Busyro had held a meeting with the suspect of the bribery case of SEA Games athletes’ village project in Palembang, South Sumatra.
According to OC Kaligis, Busyro made serious talks with Nazar on the candidacy of KPK chairman following rumor that Busyro would not be on the top list. Busyro denied this claim. He prefer not responding to Nazaruddin’s statement.
"From now on I will not respond to the deluded person," said Busyro at the Constitutional Court building, Jakarta, Monday, August 22.
In addition to Busyro, the Ethics Committee will also summon PT Permai Group Deputy Finance Director, Yulianis. The committee had questioned KPK officials including vice chairman M Jasin, former deputy for enforcement Ade Rahardja, and spokesman Johan Budi.
The outsiders who were questioned namely, Democratic Party Chairman Anas Urbaningrum, and lawmakers Saan Mustopa and Benny Kabur Harman.
