VIVAnews – The government said it is ready to boost state revenue from tax sector by Rp5 trillion in the 2012 State Budget. With that increase, the tax ratio went up to 12.66 percent from 12 percent.
“Efforts have been taken to maximize it,” said Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo, on Monday.
However, Agus acknowledged the efforts to step up revenue from tax sector were still minor. According to him, the current global economic condition will in fact affect the country’s economy, either the trade, finance or investment sector.
As a result, various measures needed to make possible improvement will be taken.
Agus went on to say that in determining the rise of state revenue from tax sector, a president’s approval is required. In addition, it must also be discussed with the House Budget Agency.
