VIVAnews – Police named eleven suspects who were allegedly involved in the rioting in Klungkung, Bali, which took place last Saturday. Several weapons have also been confiscated from the suspects.

"After undergoing an intensive examination, eleven people were named suspects," said Bali Police Head of Public Relations, Comm. Hariadi, on Tuesday.

Six suspects were from Kemoning village and five from Budaga village. Several evidence were secured, including swords, spears, slingshots and Molotov cocktails.

The suspects who were now detained at the Klungkung police station are charged with Article 2 of Emergency Law No. 12/1951 on the ownership of firearms. "They are facing 5 years of imprisonment," said Hariadi.

Earlier, a clash broke out between residents of two villages in Klungkung Regency due to a boundary issue between Kemoning and Budaga villages. During the incident, police fired rubber bullets into the crowds to curb the unrest. However, one person called Ketut Ariaka from Budaga village, was killed. The post-mortem examination results stated he died of a bullet wound in the back of his head. The Bali Police have yet to make any confirmation on the type of the bullet which had taken Ketut Ariaka’s life.

"The hospital’s post-mortem report said the victim was killed by a gunshot in the back of his head. But we have not yet identified whether the bullet was rubber or not," said Hariadi.
