Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will reshuffle his cabinet next month in an effort to improve the image of a government that is struggling to enact reforms and fight corruption.
Yudhoyono was re-elected on promises to clean up corruption in Southeast Asia's biggest economy, but a series of graft scandals has dented his popularity this year.
This would be the first change of ministers since Yudhoyono's second term started in 2009.
"Next month, my cabinet will be two years old. This will be the right time to reshuffle the cabinet I have led," Yudhoyono said in a statement late on Thursday. "I want the cabinet to have a better performance in three years time."
"The principle is having the right man in the right place."
Political analysts have speculated that energy minister Darwin Zahedy Saleh and state-owned enterprises minister Mustafa Abubakar, who is on leave after suffering a heart attack last month, will be among those moved out of the cabinet.
