VIVAnews - The Indonesian central bank conducts an internal investigation into alleged flow of funds carried out by former owner of Bank Century, Robert Tantular, to Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Budi Mulya. During a meeting of BI Board of Governors, Budi Mulya admitted the action was aimed at personal interests despite Short-term Financing Facility (FPJP).
"We have learned that the man on the spotlight (Budi Mulya) had said the funds were aimed at personal loans instead of FPJP," said BI spokesperson, Difi A Johansyah, today.
Earlier, the flow of funds was reportedly revealed after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Robert Tantular.
Given the information, BI ordered an international investigation into the case.
Prior to being listed as failed bank, Bank Century proposed FPJP to BI on 30 October 2008, worth Rp1 trillion, which was re-proposed on 3 November 2008.
