VIVAnews - Lawyer of former Democratic Party's Treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin, Afrian Bondjol, said the decision taken by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)'s Ethics Committee was disappointing.
Afrian emphasized several issues over the Committee's questioning. First off, the lawyer viewed KPK as having been partial and subjective in questioning the KPK leaders.
"It was only in the beginning that Abdullah Hehamahua - Chairperson of the Committee - said that our client has offered lies," he said.
Moreover,the appointment of Bibit Samad Riyanto as a Committee member was deemed improper, said the lawyer. "In addition to being a KPK leader, he is a suspect [of a case] although the case has been dropped."
Afrian demanded that Police and Attorney Office follow up the extortion case which allegedly involved Chandra Hamzah and other KPK leaders.
As reported, the questioning made by KPK's Ethics Commission over several KPK leaders leads to a conclusion that no violation has been committed by the questioned.
