VIVAnews - Bank Indonesia is in the process of reviewing the rules on wealth management and private banking to prioritized customers in banking industry.
"Rules for the premium service and risk management will be issued," said BI Deputy Governor Halim Alamsyah in The 4th International Wealth Management and Private Banking Conference 2011, in Jakarta, on Tuesday.
According to Halim, the new regulation is still under technical preparation and has not yet been discussed by BI Board of Governors. However, the principles in the regulation have been approved.
"The concept is still on the level of definition. In essence, the regulation should not be put in general terms. Each bank should have a different name. This is to make sure that customers are in the know if they are categorized premium customers," he said.
In the future, Halim continued, the stipulation will take the form of Bank Indonesia Regulation.
