VIVAnews – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said all government levels must improve the planning and implementation of the State and Regional Budget. So far, State and Regional Budget spending is not yet effective.
“There are still graft practices involving individuals of the central government and regional government, not to mention lawmakers,” said the president at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday.
According to Yudhoyono, State and Regional Budget spending does not hit the right target. For example, the capital expenditure is still less compared to the large expenditure on state employees.
Yudhoyono also called on the House to join in the monitoring of State and Regional Budget spending. “Let’s prevent nontransparent lobbying from taking place among government officials or lawmakers,” he said.
“I’m also asking law enforcers to oversee budget spending. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Center (PPATK), the police and attorneys must keep an eye on the use of state finance,” he said.
