VIVAnews - An American tourist who had just arrived at Polonia airport in Medan, on Thursday morning, died after being stabbed by two robbers riding a motorcycle. Police are still pursuing the perpetrators whose physical appearance has been identified.
The victim, Samuel Hyein, had just arrived at Polonia airport, Medan from Singapore. Taking a motorbike-rickshaw, the man asked to be taken to a hotel on Jalan S Parman. On the way to the designated place, a motorbike pressed against the rickshaw.
The perpetrators immediately pointed a knife at the victim. Hyein fought against the robbers. Unfortunately, one of the culprits stabbed him in the left thigh, causing him to collapse.
Seeing the victim was down and covered in blood, both the perpetrators escaped without taking anything from him. By some motorbike-rickshaw drivers, the victim who was in critical condition was rushed to the Elizabeth Hospital, Medan.
Unfortunately, because of the serious bleeding, the victim's life could not be saved.
A witness, Frans Pasaribu, a resident on Jalan S Parman, saw the victim faced out the two perpetrators.
"But the man refused to surrender and they were fighting. One of them stabbed the victim who then immediately collapsed," said Frans.
