VIVAnews – The Democratic Party is not concerned with the results of the Indonesia Voice Network (JSI) survey which shows a declining trend in the level of public satisfaction with the Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono administration during the last two years.
"The level of satisfaction with the performance of Yudhoyono’s government falls, but it is still within the tolerated range," said Democratic Party Deputy Secretary General Saan Mustofa in Jakarta, Sunday. Based on JSI’s survey, the level of satisfaction with the Yudhoyono-Boediono government in January 2010 reached 70 percent, in October 2010 62 percent, and in October 2011 only 53.2 percent.
Saan stressed, the party appreciates the results of the survey. "For the Democratic Party and the government, this is a record and a very valuable input for the anticipation and evaluation of our policy in the future," said Saan.
The member of Commission III also stated that the Democratic Party will pay attention to the surveys so that the trend of public discontent of the government does not go on. "We still have three years to raise the level of satisfaction," said Saan optimistically.
The public dissatisfaction against the government, he added, is reasonable because public expectation of government’s performance is so high. "Sometimes the expectations exceed the reality," said Saan.
JSI’s survey says the Yudhoyono administration still cannot tackle the economic and legal issues. The achievement of the government in those two areas is still considered dire. The largest portion of public dissatisfaction in the legal sector is for the cases of corruption, which reaches 61.8 percent.
