VIVAnews - Indonesia Forum for Budget Transparency (Fitra) said many provinces throughout Indonesia prefer building international standard schools to public schools due to high budget allocation.
"The provinces are now in a great rush to build international standard schools to get block grants," said Fitra Secretary General, Uchok Sky Khadafi, today.
Uchol said the government still allocates budget for the development of international standard schools in 2012 fiscal year worth Rp242 billion. In the meantime, national standard schools will only gain Rp108 billion.
Indeed, the budget for international standard schools for 2012 fiscal year decreased by Rp47.6 billion.
However, national standard schools had lower decrease at Rp142.4 billion.
"Given the condition, national schools in the provinces are abandoned," he said.
