Indonesia PLN Needs More Coal Supply

VIVAnews - Coal consumption of state electricity company (PLN) in 2012 is expected to reach 57 million tons following the operation of steam-based power plant of 10,000 MW.

Director of PLN Primary Energy, Nur Pamudji, said the coal consumption in 2012 will hike 31 percent compared to that of 2011 at 43.5 million tons.

PLN is for the time being sees the chance to build coal processing factory.

The factory will have a capacity of 10 million tons per year. "It will be set up in Java Island," he said.
