VIVAnews - The Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) expects the change of TransJakarta status from public service board (BLU) to limited liability company (PT) will also change its current management, which is considered as poor.
"Currently BLU Transjakarta is chaired by only an echelon III-official, so structurally it is difficult to coordinate with Public Works ministry, and the police. This is despite the money being managed amounts to Rp1 billion a day," said YLKI daily board member, Tulus Abadi, Thursday.

He said that so far there is no minimum service standards for TransJakarta bus. It is expected that the PT entity can produce minimum service standards for the benchmark of the company's success.
Ideally, Tulis said, bus headways should be set at 3 minutes, 5 minutes, or 10 minutes.
In addition, the number of passengers, usually 85, in a bus should be reduced. This is aimed to prevent or alleviate unpleasant smell and sexual harassment.
