VIVAnews – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has received the copy of the verdict acquitting non-active Bekasi Mayor Mochtar Muhammad from Bandung District Court. KPK will file an appeal against it.
“We will file an appeal next week,” said KPK spokesperson Johan Budi SP, today.
Despite not knowing the peculiarity of the verdict, Johan said it is already evaluated and an appeal against it must be filed.
Earlier, Mochtar Muhammad was acquitted during the court held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in Bandung. This is despite KPK prosecutor demanded a sentence of 12 years in prison and fine of Rp300 million subsidiary of six months in prison for Mochtar. The sentence was accumulated from four charges of the defendant.
In addition to KPK, the Judicial Commission has also received the copy of the case verdict. The Judicial Commission reviews the verdict for annotation process.
