VIVAnews - The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will announce the verification result of new political parties that will participate in the coming 2014 General Elections.
“Today, the Deputy Minister (Denny Indrayana) will announce the verification result of new political parties,” said Chief of Sub Directorate State Administration Law, Josi B. Sugiarto, on Friday.
He said that his team has submitted the result to the Deputy Minister’s protocol.
As reported earlier, the government issued a regulation to simplify the political parties. This was done by revising Political Party Law. The revision stated that a political party must have 75 percent of regency/municipality in each province.
However, after the judicial review of this revision, the parties that are required to meet such requirements are new parties that are yet to have legal entity.
The registration for the verification of political parties for the 2014 General Election was opened since January 17. The registration was closed in August 22nd, and only 14 new political parties are listed.
The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights conducted verification until September 23rd 2011.
