Procurement Sector Tops Corruption List

VIVAnews - Head of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Busyro Muqoddas, said procurement has been mostly subject to corruption in Indonesia following the many cases on the sector investigated by the Commission.

"Corruption on the procurement sector tops the list," said Busyro, today. 

Busyro said out of 213 cases that KPK handled between 2004 and 2011, cases on the procurement sector hit 43.9 percent. Bribery sits second on the list with 29.1 percent.

Budget manipulation is on third position with 15.8 percent; illegal levy is at 6.12 percent; while licensing records 5.1 percent.

Busyro claimed KPK saved Rp155 billion of state potential losses from all sectors including oil and gas category.
