VIVAnews - The National Police said 12 alleged members of the Free Papua Movement (OPM) have been arrested in Tuesday, Nov 22, following attacks on a police mobile brigade station and a logistics office in Mulia district, Puncak Jaya, Papua, in October.
"We have captured 12 persons who are allegedly OPM members," said Police spokesperson, Ins. Gen. Saud Usman Nasution, on Thursday, Nov 24.
The suspects are of the initials of JT, KW, YW, ST, AT, KT, KW, WT, PT, NT, S and YW. A man was shot to death when he tried to escape the ambush.
Saud said the suspects lurked in the locals' traditional homes of honai. Police then isolated the suspects from the locals.
Police have yet to assure whether or not the suspects are involved with the killing og Mulia Police Chief, Saud.
