VIVAnews - Denpasar District Court of Bali sentenced an Australian teenager with the initial of LM, 14, two months in jail for being caught of carrying marijuana at a net weight of 3.3 grams.
Judge Amzer Simanjuntak said LM was proved guilty of violating Law No.35/2009 on Psychotropics.
In the verdict, Judge Amzer said a proper place to rehabilitate foreigner in Indonesia is not available. Prison is the best solution for the problem, said the judge.
The final verdict was lighter than the charges brought by prosecutor Gusti Putu Atmaja who demanded that the defendant was given three months in jail.
LM was arrested in Kuta, Oct 5, for holding 3.3 grams of marijuana. The next day, LM was officially put in custody by Bali Police.
