VIVAnews - The Search and Rescue team found another bodies of the collapsed suspension bridge victims in East Kalimantan, today. The two bodies were spotted floating 10 kilometers away from the scene.
The death toll from the fatal accident now reaches 18 people. The rescue team believes more victims are still trapped below the water, squeezed by the rubbles and boxed up in sunk vehicles.
Chief of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency's Data Center, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said the evacuation is still on the go. "Professional divers will be deployed to speed up the evacuation process," he said.
Sutopo said all divers of 18 are brought in from oil companies.
A special chamber containing pure oxygen is also made available in support of the evacuation.
