VIVAnews - Another cold lava flood just hit Central Java on Monday, Nov 28, washing away four homes and four sand trucks.
As many as 22 families of 72 people in Karangasem Hamlet, Magelang Regency, Central Java, are still taking refuge in Blongkeng Village Hall.
A volunteer of youth organization GP Anshor, Chabibullah, said the locals are still worried that another flood will thump their neighborhood.
"People are afraid of the future flooding, for their homes are located near a subsidence-prone cliff," he said.
Earlier, Yogyakarta Volcanology Research and Technological Development (BPPTK) warned the Yogyakartans living alongside the rivers to be aware of the rising rain intensities on Mount Merapi.
"Local downpours on the peak of Merapi volcano may lead to cold lava flood," Subandriyo, Chief of BPPTK, said.
