VIVAnews - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summons five former high-ranking officials of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina namely Widya Purnama, Baihaki Hakim, Ari Hermanto Soemarno, and Arifin Nawawi. In addition to the ex Pertamina president directors, the anti-graft commission also called in the company's deputy director, Iin Arifin takhyan.
Their legal adviser, Dodi Abdul Kadir, said the former Pertamina officials will be questioned on the bribery case by Innospec Ltd., an England-based energy firm.
"They are all questioned on the gratification case of TEL case," said Dodi, today.
The case was a follow up to the investigation of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and KPK on the alleged bribery case of delayed lead-free fuel implementation in Indonesia.
The British court has passed a sanction toward Innospec with a fine of US$12.7 million as it was proven of bribing Indonesia's oil and gas officials worth US$8 million.
The bribery was seen as an effort to hamper the implementation of lead-free fuel by the Indonesian government, which should have been applied in 1999.
