VIVAnews – Riot again took place in Ambon, Maluku, early this morning. Three houses were burnt and seven people were injured from this incident.
The riot occurred on Tuesday, Dec 13, around 2 a.m in Nusaniew District, Ambon, Maluku involving Lorong Pohon Pule and Air Mata Cina residents.
The incident started when the residents were throwing firecrackers at each other. Then the situation began to heat up.
Suddenly a firecracker was thrown onto the roof of a house in Air Mata Cina village. The house was burnt.
Not accepting that one of their houses got burnt down, the residents started throwing items at each other. The items were not only firecrackers, but also other solid objects. The residents were just across the street from each other; that is between Jalan Baru and Pohon Pule.
From this incident, three houses caught fire in Air Mata Cina village. Meanwhile, five injured people were hospitalized in Al Fatah Ambon Hospital. They were Baharain (32), Heri (40), Randi (21), Michail (18), and Nujun (22).
Moreover, two other victims were Alfredo Amanupunyo (27) and Yondri Melai (26). Meanwhile, until this morning, police and Indonesian Military personnel are still on guard on the scene.
