VIVAnews – Six suspects are under investigation in relation with the death of seven villagers in Mesuji Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The incident took place on April 21, 2011.
“The suspects consist of men from (oil palm plantation) company and also from the village. One suspect was from the village,” said Indonesia’s Police Chief, General Timur Pradopo, yesterday, Dec 14.
Timur said that the company is called BSMI. It is a Malaysia-based oil palm plantation company.
Timur has yet to confirm whether the death of the villagers was caused by the act of beheading committed by the suspects.
“Court sessions will answer such a question,” he said.
Earlier, several Mesuji villagers reported a brutal massacre to the House of Representatives (DPR). 33 villagers were reported dead from the incident. Other than Mesuji Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatera, the massacre was also reported to happen in Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province.
