VIVAnews – The Judicial Commission has received 96 applicants of supreme judge’s position until yesterday. 61 applicants are career judges.
“It’s the total number of supreme judge candidates until listed until 5.30 p.m.,” said spokesman of the Judicial Commission, Asep Rahmat Fajar, on today.
Although the registration ended on December 21, the Judicial Commission is still expecting mailed documents for the next 2 days.
“We’re waiting for the documents for 2 more days with one condition: the mails should have them stamped by post offices on December 21,” he explained.
The next stage will apply administrative selection.
The commission will single out 15 candidates. Then, five candidates out of the 15 will be presented to the House of Representatives (DPR). The five candidates will be the next supreme judges of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court has called for five new supreme judges who consist of two civil judges, two criminal judges, and one military judge. Meanwhile, the supreme judges who will retire until May 2012 include Harifin A Tumpa, Prof Mieke Komar, Atja Sondjaja, Imam Harjadi, and Dirwoto.
