VIVAnews - The year 2011 has witnessed more developments in the IT industry with the release of new tablets and Ultrabook, updates in cloud computing, improve in cyber crimes. IT workers are beginning to focus their businesses towards efficiency.
This dynamics will still be around in 2012, referring to Gartner's survey. Director and Country Manager of Dell Indonesia, Pieter Lydian, said that next year the global IT enterprises will spend US$ 2.7 trillion.
"It is an increase of 3.9 percent from 2011 in which spending reached US$ 2.6 trillion," Pieter Lydian said yesterday.
Mobile devices, he said, will claim domination among business users. In addition, Cloud computing and social network sites, which has set up solid market in BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, and China), will remain in control of the IT landscape.
The Gartner's survey has also anticipated that 50 percent of office email users will access their emails via mobile browsers, tablets or smart phones.
40 percent of the companies will prefer cloud storage to regular servers. 85 percent of 500 leading companies will fail in making possible data efficiency. However, companies will be more competitive by 2015.
Pieter said he was optimistic about the IT progress in Indonesia. "The growth will be high," he said.
