VIVAnews – Jakarta Police have arrested another suspect of robbery and rape in public minivan of Bekasi – Kampung Melayu route.
The suspect is called Saad. Based on another suspect’s statement, Saad was the one who raped a woman of the initial of RS near Depok. All suspects have been arrested now.
Saad, 19, was arrested in Medan, North Sumatra on Tuesday, Dec 27. The Police have also arrested three other suspects of different cases. Saad and three other suspects (R,19, K, 21, and C, 20) were suspected as members of a motor vehicles robber syndicate in Jakarta.
“From an investigation of S, a suspect of Depok case, he was also involved in other cases in Harapan Indah, Bekasi, Pasar Rebo, and Pancoran. Other three suspects were members of a brutal act that have caused major injuries and death,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Department of Jakarta Police, Adj. Chief. Comm. Helmy Santika on Wednesday, Dec 28.
Helmy said that 2 suspects, K and R, were shot in their legs when they put up a fight. He said that the Police have also arrested the organization that manages the stolen motor vehicles.
The Police will further investigate the organization to find out to whom the stolen motor vehicles were sold.
“We are still pursuing 3-4 other organization members. They usually operate in public transportations at night. There are 10 cases of motor vehicles robbery related to this syndicate so far,” he said.
Most of the syndicate members are under 20 years old. K is 21 years old. K and C were ex-convicts. Both of them had only stepped out of jail because of theft and possession of weapon. R was the executor.
Investigators are still examining the four suspects. They are charged with Article 365 Criminal Acts of robbery with violence. They are charged with 12 years of imprisonment.
