The two ancient artifacts were not licensed and granted permission to be distributed outside of Indonesia by the Directorate General of History and Archeology of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

The two cannons were of different sizes. Their lengths were about 1 meter.  There were engravings in the form of a royal crown and the emblem of a horse.

The two Thai citizens said they purchased the cannons from Jalan Surabaya, Central Jakarta, where antiques are usually put on display. The Police are still investigating the possibility of smuggling of the ancient artifacts.
