VIVAnews – The third suspect of Kartanegara bridge collapse was finally detained. The man of the initial of MSF was picked up only several hours apart from the arrest of two other suspects, namely: ST and YS. The three suspects were held up in Kutai Kertanegara Police Headquarters.
Earlier, at 10 p.m., Police announced they had arrested two suspects from Kutai Kertanegara Public Works Agency, namely ST and YS. The two suspects were in-charge for the budget (KPA) and technical execution (PPTK) in the bridge’s rehabilitation project. The last suspect, MSF, was a high-ranking official at PT. Bukaka Teknik Utama.
The lawyer of the two suspects claimed that his clients are innocent because they were not informed about the technical works of the bridge’s maintenance. The lawyer, Nasrun Mu’min, revealed that the case is unique.
Chief of Police Public Relations Department of East Kalimantan, Comm. Antonius Wisnu, confirmed about the arrest of the three suspects. “We have arrested 3 suspects, ST, YS and MSF,” said Wisnu.
Wisnu previously stated that more suspects may be listed. Investigators continue to ask for more statements and information from the suspects.
