VIVAnews – The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) named Miranda Swaray Goeltom (MSG) as a suspect in the traveler's cheque case during the elections of Bank Indonesia (BI)’s Senior Deputy Governor in 2004.
In order to get clarification from Miranda, VIVAnews tried to visit her residence on Jalan Sriwijaya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta on Thursday, Jan 26. However, Miranda was not available.
The security guard said the former BI’s Senior Deputy Governor has left for work.
“She left for work this morning,” said the anonymous employee.
Miranda’s house was quiet. Only several house maids and construction workers were seen in and out of the house.
In a press conference, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK), Abraham Samad, explained about the process of naming MSG as a suspect in a bribe case to members of Commission IX of the House of Representatives period 1999-2004. The bribery is allegedly associated with her winning the election as BI’s Senior Deputy Governor in 2004. Miranda is facing 5 years of imprisonment.
