VIVAnews – The lawyer of the suspect of the alleged travelers’ cheque bribery case of the former Senior Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Miranda Swaray Goeltom, Dodi Abdulkadir, stated that his client did not know anything about the fund sponsor. Miranda will fully support Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in disclosing this case.
“Regarding the sponsor of travelers’ cheque, Miranda is (unaware of it),” said Dodi, to VIVAnews, today.
Dodi stated that Miranda will be in full support of KPK in revealing the case. From the existing facts, Miranda was initially not aware of the travelers’ cheque being distributed to 25 members of the House of Representatives, let alone about the fund sources.
“That will be the foundation of the exposure in the trial later,” said Dodi. However, Dodi respects the legal process of setting Miranda as a suspect.
Dodi said that KPK is just doing its job in enforcing anti-corruption law. Dodi continued that Miranda has committed to be cooperative with KPK to expose the case of 480 travelers’ cheques worth Rp24 billion.
“We will fully cooperate to support KPK in exposing the facts in this travelers’ cheque case,” he said.
Earlier, PT First Mujur's role was revealed during the development of this case. This company bought the 480 travelers’ cheques worth of Rp 24 billion from Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII). The cheques were paid through PT First Mujur’s account in Bank Artha Graha.
An examination in the Anti-Corruption Court showed that Finance Director of PT First Mujur, Budi Santoso, admitted that the 480 travelers’ cheques in Bank Internasional Indonesia through Bank Artha Graha were requested by Suhardi alias Ferry Yen.
Then, how far is Miranda’s relationship with the high officials of Bank Artha Graha? “Miranda has no connection with Bank Artha Graha. She does not know anything,” said Dodi.
