VIVAnews – Former Vice President, Jusuf Kalla, said the best solution to reduce fuel subsidy is by increasing fuel price to Rp6.000 - Rp6.500 per liter, as was previously done. The government does too much studying which confuses people.
“We are also confused. Well, the best solution to the problem is to resume the old fuel prices. That’s the shortest solution,” said Jusuf Kalla last night, Jan 31.
JK said that modifying fuel prices these days will not be too sensitive compared to when he was still holding Vice Presidential office.
“Now, if new fuel prices are set, it will only affect those riches. People in Kijang cars are well-off. People with motorcycles are also well-off,” said the Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross.
“If the prices go up by 30%, then reduce your trip by 30%. No need to cruise around until adjustment is made,” he said.
By increasing fuel prices, he said, the government does not need to modify electricity tariff (TDL) during the completion of the 10 thousand megawatt-power plant project.
