“If no indication of corruption is found, then why we decide to block the account?” Head of Police Criminal Investigation Department, Comm. Gen. Sutarman, said.

Police are looking into whether or not the Rp 25 billion worth of fund from Robert Tantular was originated from Bank Century's bailout fund. Even though not the slightest clue was on the horizon, Police are still blocking the bank account to study any indication of crime.

“Rp5 billion went into someone’s personal account and Rp20 billion went into the account (of the Foundation),” said the former Chief of Jakarta Police.

The fund from Robert to Fatmawati Foundation was completed in 3 phases: Rp2 billion, Rp8 billion and Rp15 billion. From the total fund, Rp20 billion went into the Foundation’s account, and Rp5 billion went into a personal account.

The fund transfer was exposed when Fatmawati Foundation along with its lawyer, Rony Hartawan, reported to the Police that the Foundation had received a fund transfer of Rp25 billion. They filed the report as they feared the fund had any relation with money laundering. Police gave a positive response to this report.

Rony revealed that this case is related to 2 companies, namely: PT GNU (Graha Nusa Utama) and PT NUS (Nusa Utama Sentosa).

Between 2003 and 2005, the Fatmawati Foundation received fund gradually from CIC Bank (a merger of Century Bank).  This was the payment from PT GNU (Graha Nusa Utama) and PT NUS (Nusa Utama Sentosa) in exchange of the use of 22.8 hectares land owned by Fatmawati Foundation located in Jalan RS Fatmawati, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

Rony said the Fatmawati Foundation has never transferred its golf course ownership rights to Robert Tantular.  “Because it is owned by Fatmawati Foundation,” explained Rony, on Wednesday, Dec 11.
