LHE Factories Postponed Until Elections
VIVAnews - The realization of energy-saving lamp factory (LHE) in Tangerang, West Java will be postponed until the General Elections celebration.
"Still, the plan to construct the factory will be [executed]," said the chairperson of Indonesia Electricity Lighting Industry (Aperlindo) John Manoppo on Monday, March 16.
The issuance of certain imports policy on Trade Minister Regulation No.56/2008 has affected the construction of LHE factory by three importers who had decided to also become the producers. "All of the [importers] are local investors who previously were importers of energy-saving lamps from China," said Manoppo.
The three investors, namely PT Sukaku Indonesia, PT Simbarco Kencana (Megaman), and PT Supertech Internusa (Top Lamp), plan to give a total investment valuing US$6 million. While every factory will have a production with 2 millions per year of capacity.
Manoppo said that the future investors are still in the process of surveying lands for their factories. "They are now waiting for the realization after this April [elections]," he explained.
