VIVAnews - The alleged case of manipulated final voters list in several regencies in East Java caused an issue that the 2009 Elections will be delayed. However, Head of Constitutional Court Mahfud MD stressed that the legislative Elections will still be held on April 9.
The delay in the Elections day, said Mahfud, will instead disturb state administration.
"The similar anxiety also occurred in the 2004 Elections. However, the Elections kept going," said Mahfud on Tuesday, March 24.
Mahfud went on to say that the Elections Commission should be responsible of handling numerous problems concerning the Elections.
In response to doubts from a number of groups that the Elections Commission would fail organizing the Elections on April 9 due to problems on final voters list and logistics distribution, Mahfud said the commission must work harder.
The Constitutional Court is ready to help the Elections Commission if there are problems concerning final votes or other issues.
