Foundation Marks 40 Years with Symphony Featuring Dwiki Dharmawan

Bekasi, VIVA – The Al-Muhajirien Waqaf Foundation in Jakapermai hosted a symphony concert featuring renowned musician Dwiki Dharmawan alongside more than 200 students from Al Azhar Jakapermai, Kemang Pratama, and Grand Wisata. The event marked the foundation’s 40th anniversary since its establishment on August 9, 1985.

“Today, we commemorate 40 years of the Al-Muhajirien Waqaf Foundation, which was founded on August 9, 1985,” said H. M. Muhammad Syafiudin BComm ST, Chair of the Al-Muhajirien Waqaf Foundation, during the celebration in Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday. “We strive to encourage everyone to continue advancing and developing this foundation.”

He noted that the foundation has endured for more than four decades due to a shared commitment to transformation. This effort aims to align long-term aspirations with the need for change both in the present and future.

“It has been four decades of walking this path of service together,” Syafiudin remarked. “Many have been involved over the years, but one thing has not changed—our spirit to give, guide, and build civilization through education and service.”

Syafiudin explained that the foundation was built not for personal interests, but as a trust from the community. Every step, program, and resource is dedicated to the common good.

“Forty years is not only a record of institutional growth, but also of changing times, community dynamics, and evolving ways of understanding education and service,” he added. The foundation intends to maintain not only physical and operational continuity, but also the vision, system resilience, and moral responsibility for the future.

Currently, the Al-Muhajirien Waqaf Foundation manages ten Islamic Al Azhar schools (from kindergarten to high school) and one Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. It seeks to provide Islamic-based education supported by digital learning and international standards.

Musician Dwiki Dharmawan expressed his joy at collaborating with students from kindergarten to high school levels. “There are many outstanding talents in the schools under the Al-Muhajirien Waqaf Foundation,” he said.
