Indonesia-Iran Make Stamp for 72nd of Bilateral Relation

VIVA – Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G Plate receive a visit from the Iranian Ambassador for Republic of Indonesia (RI), Timor Leste and ASEAN, H.E. Mohammad Azad. There are several discussions at this meeting, including efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Iran.

Johnny said that as a sign strengthen of bilateral relations, the two countries will produce anniversary stamps and documentary films. Bilateral relations between two countries have entered the age of 70 years which began in 1950.

"There are two discussions that include discussions on international cooperation, and six other topics to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries," Johnny said in his statement, quoted on Saturday April 23, 2022.

He explained that one of the ways to explore international cooperation with Iran was related to support in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) forum. Later, it also to provide support for candidates for officials of the two countries who will later occupy various positions in ITU management.

He also detailed six subjects of the discussion on bilateral relations between Indonesia-Iran, namely discussions related to cyber security, air space cooperation, digital economy, super apps, as well as mutual building cooperation in the postal and logistic services fields.

"This is for e-Business, e-Commerce between Indonesia and Iran," explained the Nasdem politician.

Afterwards, he said that the Iranian Ambassador, Mohammad Azad want Republic of Indonesia to organize activities such as exhibitions. Then, the two countries can join issue a joint stamp to anniversarry 70 years of bilateral relations between the two countries.

"It’s 72years in 2022 now. We certainly welcome this joint stamp, because it anniversarry the on going bilateral relations between Iran and Indonesia. And, they also want to make a documentary film between the two countries," said Johnny.

Furthermore, he said that later there would be a team in the making of a documentary film. He said the team would later carry out expeditions at various important points in the Indonesian territory that had been surveyed.

Jhonny said he would coordinate with the relevant authorities in the country regarding Iran's wishes. It hopes that the results of the documentary film can describe efforts to build better relations between Indonesia and Iran.

“Moreover, they also believe that Indonesia will become the fourth largest economy in the world. Also, Iran wants to know more about Indonesia's strengths and strengths through the documentary films they will make," he said.
