In 2023, it will be implemented in all provinces and districts/cities. Meanwhile, immunization with the Rotavirus vaccine will begin in 2022 in 21 districts/cities representing each island, and will be administered nationally in 2024.
Mandatory immunization
Previously, mandatory immunization consisted of 11 types of vaccines given from infancy to elementary school age. The addition of 3 other vaccines is included as mandatory immunization which will later be given to certain age groups.
The 11 types of vaccines previously used, include:
1. Complete basic immunization for baby aged 0-11 months
1 month: BCG Polio 1, prevents transmission of tuberculosis and polio
2 months: DPT-HB-Hib 1 Polio 2, prevents polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, retanus, hepatitis B, meningitis and pneumonia
3 months: DPT-HB-Hib 2 Polio 3
4 months: DPT-HB-Hib 3 Polio 4

2. Follow-up immunizations for baby aged 18-24 months
One dose of DPT-HB-Hib immunization, serves to prevent diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, pneumonia, and meningitis.Rubella measles immunization 1 dose.
3. Advanced immunization of elementary school children in the year’s program
Month of National Immunization Immunization of measles, rubella and DT in grade one children. Immunization of tetanus diphtheria in grade two and grade five.Â
