1. Pagaruyung Palace
The first tourist spot in Batusangkar is the Pagaruyung Palace. It is located in Nagari Pagaruyung, Tanjung Emas District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. In Minangkabau language, Pagaruyung Palace is also called Istano Basa Pagaruyung.
This palace was built in the traditional Minangkabau or locally known as Rumah Gadang architectural style. However, it also had some atypical elements, such as a three-story structure and the larger dimension compared to the common Gadang House.
Besides enjoying the magnificent architecture, tourists can also see the relics of the Pagaruyung Kingdom, which have high historical value at the Pagaruyung Palace.
2. Lake Singkarak
Lake Singkarak is a very popular place among tourists, especially during the holiday season. In addition, this lake has beautiful scenery. So, it can attract foreign tourists to visit.
Lake Singkarak stretches across two districts in the province of West Sumatra, namely Solok district and Tanah Datar district and has an area of ??107.8 kilometers. This lake is larger than the other island of Sumatra after Lake Toba.

3. Anai Valley Waterfall
Anai Valley Waterfall is located in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra. The 35 meters high waterfall is right on the edge of Raya Padang Street-Bukittinggi at the foot of Mount Singgalang.
Anai Valley Waterfall is part of the Batang Lurah River, a tributary of the Batang Anai River which originates on Mount Singgalang with an altitude of 400 meters above sea level.
The water is also very clear and fresh because it comes directly from the forest of Mount Singgalang. Here you can wash your face to get rid of your tiredness during the trip.
4. Kampai Nan Long Gadang House
Kampai Nan Long Gadang House or locally known as Rumah Gadang Kampai Nan Panjang is a house that has a typical Minang architecture with a four-sided roof made of palm fiber.
This place is located in Nagari Balimbing, Rambatan District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra.
It was said that the house built by Datuk Penghulu Basa of the Kampai Nan Panjang Tribe is approximately 300 years old. So, don’t be surprised if this house is considered as one of the historic buildings in Tanah Datar Regency.
In addition, not only has a unique architecture, this building also has another uniqueness, such as this building was made without using nails, but using a peg and tie system, which makes this building very sturdy and resistant to earthquake shocks.
5. Aua Sarumpun Hill
Aua Sarumpun Hill is a popular tourist attraction among tourists. This place offers a view filled with green weeds like in the savanna of Mount Merbabu, Central Java.
The atmosphere of this place is difficult to find in big cities. From the top of the hill you can see the beauty of Mount Singgalang, Sago and Merapi.

The Batikam Stone Cultural Heritage is a cultural heritage with an area of??approximately 1.800 square meters.
This Batikam Stone Cultural Heritage was once a place that served as a place for deliberation for tribal chiefs. It is said that the stab in the middle of the rock in this place was the stab of the dagger belonging to Datuak Parpatiah Nan Sabatang.
