VIVA – The government of Depok City will close the Dewi Sartika crossing temporarily starting next week. The policy was carried out to support the Dewi Sartika underpass project, which is in the process of working on a solution to traffic jams in Depok currently.

Head of the Traffic Division of the Depok City Transportation Service, Marbudi, said the closure would last for 7 months, from May 17 until December 31, 2022.

"The Traffic Closure and Traffic Engineering will start on May 17, 2022 at 11 PM until December 31, 2022," said Marbudi in a statement quoted on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

Budi said that during the closure, traffic engineering would be implemented to anticipate congestion. The traffic engineering, among others, applies two directions on Nusantara Raya Street and Dewi Sartika.

 "For the driver of a motorcycle who wants to go to Margonda Street from Pitara Street, they cannot go to Dewi Sartika directly," said Budi.

Later, drivers heading to Margonda Street from Pitara Street will be diverted by Raya Sawangan Street.
