VIVA – The Indonesian contingent won many medals at the 2021 SEA Games on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 starting at 6 PM. Now, Indonesia reached the third position at the 2021 SEA Games medal standings.
In total, Indonesia collected medals with 36 golds, 46 silvers and 47 bronzes. Indonesia succeeded in replacing the position of Singapore with 35 golds, 36 silvers and 42 bronzes and the Philippines with 36 golds, 42 silvers and 60 bronzes.
The latest gold medal was obtained by Ahmad Zigi Zaresta Yuda from karate and the karate athlete, Ari Saputra successfully contributed the 35 gold medals for Indonesia on Wednesday evening, May 18, 2022 too. Ari who appeared in the men's 60 kg kumite karate performed extraordinarily. So, it’s not surprising that he got the gold medal.
Previously, Indonesia won a gold medal from archery. Archery swept clean in the individual recurve number. The first is the women's individual recurve number with archer Rezza Octavia.

Rezza Octavia won the gold medal in the women's individual event after defeating Narisara Khunhiranchaiyo from Thailand.
Then the archery athlete, Arif Dwi Pangestu won the individual recurve gold after beating his senior Riau Ega Agatha Salsaila with a score of 6-2 in the final which took place at the Ha Noi National Sport Training Center. Arif gave the best performance. So, Riau Ega had to be tolerant with the silver achievement.
With this, the Indonesian archery team managed to wipe out four of the five numbers contested today. In other words, the sport of archery contributed four golds today.
Meanwhile, Tri Wahyu Buwono, Andri Agus Mulyana, Joko Andriyanto, and Sutrisno won the 1000-meter ‘kayak’ race for the four men at the Thuy Nguyen Hai Phong Aquatic Center.
Vietnam as the host of the 2021 SEA Games still dominates and stays in first place in the medal standings of the 2021 SEA Games.
