VIVA – The Indonesian contingent managed to improve the ranking in the temporary medal standings for the 2021 SEA Games Vietnam. Now, the Red and White team is in third position, overtake the Philippines and Singapore.

On Thursday, May 19, 2021, at 1 PM, Indonesia managed to add 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals.

An additional gold medal was presented by Odekta Naibaho Elvina who managed to finish fastest in the athletics event in the women's marathon. The competition was held at the Hanoi National Sports Complex, National Stadium My Dinh, Vietnam.

The marathon runner also contributed one silver medal through Agus Prayogo. Meanwhile, Hendro Yap also won a silver medal from the fast-walking number.

The next gold medal was won by Medina Warda Aulia and Ummi Fisabilillah from the chess sport of the women's rapid chess team. Meanwhile, the men's quick chess team contributed bronze medals which were won by Novendra Priasmoro and Yoseph Theolifus Taher.

Another gold medal was won in archery. On the last day, they were able to add gold to the men's compound team, which was fronted by Prima Wardhana W, Deki Hastian A, Hendika Putra Pratama.

In addition, there was also a bronze medal from the men's 10m air pistol shot by Muhammad Iqbal Raia P. And a silver medal from the men's 10m air pistol by Deny Pratama, Muhammad Iqbal R P, and Wira Sukmana.

With the addition of these medals, currently Indonesia has collected 39 golds, 55 silvers and 52 bronzes.

The Indonesian team succeeded to overtake the Philippines position to fourth and Singapore position to fifth.

Meanwhile, Vietnam is still at the top of the standing’s medals with 126 golds, 76 silvers and 74 bronzes. In the second place is Thailand with 55 golds, 59 silvers and 81 bronzes.
