Sendiki Beach: Hidden Paradise in Malang

VIVA – Sendiki is one of the beaches in South Malang, it is about 2-3 hours from the centre of Malang, East Java. Sendiki beach has a long coastline with white sand. The vast coastline is surrounded by dense forests so the weather remains cool even when the sun is blazing.
However, the pounding of the beach waves that adorn this marine tourism object is very high, so tourists are encouraged to be extra careful when swimming or doing activities on the beach. So, here are some information about the hidden paradise in Malang, Sendiki Beach.
The Legend of the Origin Name Sendiki Beach
According to local residents, this beach was first discovered by 4 friends. Three of them agreed to divide the land by sticking wooden stakes as territorial markers.
Meanwhile, the last person, named Mbah Singo Lelono, was confused about which area to choose. He then asked 3 of his friends "Where is my mine?”. Mbah Singo Lelono feeling upset and then he stuck wooden stakes around the beach which is now known as Sendiki Beach.
This story continues to grow until now. However, if visitors walk to the left of the beach, they will find a stone tomb with the inscription “Singo Lelono” which is considered an ancestor by local residents.
Route to Going to Sendiki Beach
Sendiki Beach is located in Tambakrejo Village in Sumbermanjing Wetan District, Malang Regency. In the village of Tambakrejo, there are two beaches that can be visited at once, namely Sendiki Beach and Tamban. The distance between the two beaches is about 2 kilometers.
If the visitors want to go to the Sendiki Beach area from the city of Malang, they have to cover a distance of about 68-kilometers with a journey time of 2 to 3 hours.
It is recommended to bring a private vehicle because in this area there is no public transportation. From Malang city, visitors can go to Pakis Haji and then continue to Kepanjen and then Gondanglegi. So, from here they have to continue to Turen and finally arrive at Sumbermanjing Wetan.
