According to Jokowi, the use of electric vehicles in Formula E racing is in line with the direction of the Indonesian industry, which is pioneering the production of electric cars and their various components.

"I think this is a future event because we know that there will be a shift from current cars to more electric car users, so this is a show that will be more popular in the future," said President Jokowi.
President Jokowi said that Indonesia was building an electric car industry ecosystem, starting from the industrialization of nickel raw materials, construction of nickel processing installations (smelters), construction of the lithium battery industry and also the production of electric cars.
