VIVA – It is almost time for the implementation of the 11th ASEAN Para Games in Indonesia. This prestigious event will take place from July 30 to August 6, 2022 in Solo. Several preparations have been prepared and Indonesia is confident that the 2022 ASEAN Para Games will run smoothly.
Ahead of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games, the Merdeka Barat 9 Forum held an online discussion with Zainudin Amali, Gibran Rakabuming, Senny Marbun, and David Jacobs with the theme "Indonesia Aims for the General Champion of the 2022 ASEAN Para Games" on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Minister of Youth and Sports of Indonesia and Chairman of the Organizer of the ASEAN Para Games 2022, Zainudin Amali said that Indonesia has experience in hosting multi-events, even at the Asian level.
"Actually, we have experience hosting multi-events, even to the Asian level, namely the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games, and at that time they were successful. All parties expressed satisfaction, including those who came to Indonesia to be participants at that time," Zainudin Amali said.
According to Zainudin Amali, the preparations in the field, starting from the checking carried out and from the reports received, all went smoothly. It even includes the opening and closing ceremonies.
"So actually, although in a short time, we were appointed to be the host, but because of the readiness of the existing infrastructure, the readiness of our human resources, so we are actually not surprised anymore," Zainudin Amali remarked.

In the online discussion, the Mayor of Solo as the Chair of the Indonesia National Paralympic Organization Committee (INASPOC), Gibran Rakabuming Raka conveyed the preparations for the city of Solo ahead of the event.
"Yes, the preparations are very well prepared, yes, yesterday's venues have been directly inspected by the Minister of Youth and Sports," Gibran Rakabuming said.
“The venues that have been prepared have met the standards of the athletes. So far, his parties have not received any complaints.” Gibran Rakabuming added.
As the host, he hopes that this event can lift and improve the local economy. So, the economic recovery can be felt by all parties, from MSMEs to the general public.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Indonesian Paralympic National Committee (KKNPI), Senny Marbun is also confident that Indonesia will win the overall championship in this year's Asean Para Games.
Marbun said that his party had made long preparations since Indonesia was entrusted to host this prestigious event at the Asean level. He asks the support of all Indonesian people to work together to make the Asean Para Games a success.
So far, the Government has fully supported the implementation of the Asean Para Games. At least, after he brought the aspiration for Indonesia to return to host the Asean Para Games to the President.
