G20 Orchestra Gathers the Best Orchestra Artists in the World

VIVA – The Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology will hold the G20 Orchestra on September 12, 2022 in the Borobudur Area, Magelang, Central Java. This event will involve artists from various countries, especially Indonesia and led by Ananda Sukarlan, a pianist and composer from Indonesia.

The G20 Orchestra is an orchestra formed and initiated by Indonesia as the holder of the 2022 G20 Presidency. The G20 Orchestra is also Indonesia's legacy for the G20 in the future, and can be a disruption in the world of classical music.

In this performance, Indonesia presented the best orchestra players from various countries such as Antonina Popras as Artist Orchestra from Russia, Nikita Loginov a reliable trumpet player, Santiago Clemenz a flute player from Argentina, then, India sent Jasiel Peter, the best contrabass player in his country, and many more.

Not only from abroad, Indonesia also presents the best orchestra players.

Ananda Sukarlan through his Instagram account held an open audition for young talents who want to join to be a part of the G20 Orchestra and submit their appearance videos via YouTube with the keyword G20 Orchestra.

“As the citizens of Indonesia given that Indonesia holds this year’s (2022) G20 Presidency. For that, we definitely need you, outstanding Indonesian musicians to take part in this historical orchestra to participate in this audition, upload your performance on YouTube.” Ananda Sukarlan said in his Instagram video on June 22, 2022.

This audition has the purpose to find young talents throughout Indonesia, as well as provide open and same opportunities to all the best Indonesian talents.

It turned out that many young Indonesian talents with the best musical quality were interested in being part of the G20 Orchestra.

“With the G20 Orchestra, we have opened a new chapter. As the host of the G20 Culture Ministers' Summit, 40 young world musicians gathered and joined 30 Indonesian musicians in making music together, exploring each other's cultures." Ananda Sukarlan said.

The G20 orchestra from the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia is expected to be the beginning of other G20 Orchestras in the following years during the Presidency of other countries.
