The Indonesian Region with Coldest Temperature in 2022

VIVA – In the dry season, apparently, some Indonesian region have experience cold temperatures. For example, in West Nusa Tenggara. Climbers' tents in Sembalun, East Lombok, were filled with ice because of the cold temperatures.

Since July, ice dew at Bromo often appears. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Center predicts that this annual phenomenon which is often called Frozen Bromo will last until the peak of the dry season, which is next August.

Public Relations of TNBTS Sarif Hidayat said, one of the phenomena of ice dew that occurred on Mount Bromo was the drastic drop in air temperature, in addition to the influence of the wind when changing from the rainy season to the dry season.

According to him, the phenomenon occurred because the temperature dropped drastically. Usually occurs between 1 am and 5 am. The decrease in temperature was due to high wind pressure. Until it freezes the dew on the leaf surface into ice crystals.

Head of BMKG Banjarnegara Geophysics Station, Setyoajie Prayoedhie said that related to the ice dew phenomenon in Dieng, it was still related to the existence of two low pressure centers in the northern hemisphere, namely the 04W low pressure center in the South China Sea west of the Philippines and the 98W low pressure center in the northeastern Philippines.

Setyoajie Prayoedhie also said that the air temperature in Dieng was around minus 1 degree Celsius from 4 am to 5 am.

3. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT)
